We are a lighting company which produces high-end lights designed by leading American and international designers. We are looking for a person to manage all in-house production. Responsibilities will include the following:
Lamp assembly - We have 8 product lines and approximately 40 different lights that are assembled on demand in our shop. The shop manager needs to be able to assemble all products and oversee assistants when needed.
Maintain inventory of Product and Parts - Shop manager needs will need to maintain adequate levels of inventory of both finished products and parts.
Order Processing - Shop manager will be in charge of organizing shop resources to efficiently process all orders.
Quality Control - Shop manager will be responsible for quality and testing of all products assembled in house.
Shipping and Receiving - Shop manager will need to arrange all shipping and receiving
Candidates should have the following qualities:
Excellent Communication - both verbal and written communications are key.
Experience with electrical assembly - Candidates with experience in the lighting business will be given preference.
General shop skills - Because of the diverse group of products we produce candidates should have a broad range of skills. Experience with the following materials is a plus: metal, wood, glass, ceramics, plastic.
Problem solving and self-sufficiency - We are a small shop. It is likely that the shop manager will be working alone for much of the time. It is important for the shop manager to be self motivated and independent.
Location: Greenpoint
Compensation: $16-$22 per hour, based on experience. Salary and benefits possible after 6 months.
